Zack and Dante spoke more with Thornton, divining a little more information. It’s very clear he has a deep devotion to Rianna and defends her honor vehemently, claiming that if the priestess is working with Jayson, it must be by force.
Clay has joined the society of wizardry to spy undercover.
BB and Zack questioned Myra, learning that all the departments were interconnected with each other, yet each is pursuing some agenda of their own.
Talon, Zira, and Amaro investigated the Temple to Wee Jas undercover. The only things found of note was a false bookshelf hiding a true bookshelf full of undead care material, and documents indicating the flow of money out of the temple.
Thakur, BB, Dreamwarp, Adam, and Drake all went to Myra’s office where they ‘kicked in the door’ and knocked her out, simultaneously freeing the captured bard.
The bard has turned out to be Fly, the high priestess of Branchala, god of kender. After some negotiating with Branchala, the god has agreed to forgo all activity in the divine war on that world in exchange for safekeeping of kender and allowing Fly to come and go as she pleases with the group.
Aida divined that Carnessia is ruled by six separate departments that oversee all aspects of the city. In response, six smaller parties have been formed to tackle individual departments simultaneously.
Trade Department – Run by: Thornton Endiri – Team: Error
Spirituality Department – Run by: High Priestess Rianna of Wee Jas – Team: Zira and Talon
Noble Affairs Department – Run by: Phillip Melissan – Team: Dreamwarp, Drake, Adam, and Amaro
Magic Department – Run by: Jayson Transter – Team: Aida, Dante, and Clay
Military Department – Run by: Malik Caspian – Team: Andromeda, Haku, and Blanka
Guilds Department – Run by: Myra Faust – Team: Blackberry, Zack, and Thakur
Trade Department Info: Thornton is a follower of Olidammara. There are no known rumors about him. He supplied an ornate dagger to High Priestess Rianna.
Spirituality Department Info: Rianna is the high priestess of Wee Jas. She is rumored to be an undead of some sort, such as a vampire. She seeks out converts on an individual basis. Her primary worship chamber is incredibly cold, yet she gives no indication of breathing. She conducted at least one murder in conjunction with Wizard Jayson.
Noble Affairs Department Info: Really a front for all the ‘dirty money’ of the city. Any other information is currently negligable as the team slew the leader.
Magic Department Information – Jayson oversees all magical use in the city. He is very tight-lipped about what kind of incidents require his hand. He professes great hatred for Rianna, yet comitted at least one murder with her.
Military Department Info – Malik appears to be working hard at eliminating crime in the city.
Guilds Department Info – Myra has taken a sudden and deep interest in Thakur after learning he was an illusionist bard. Is apparently keeping a young, female, possibly child bard hostage.
The group traveled to Black Isle to a small city-garrisson called Starplace.
The group had an audience with High Priest Askel of Heironeous’s faith and Halo. There wasn’t much headway until Dante asked if they could prove themselves. Aksel charged the group with a mighty task – turn Carnessia into a safe, gleaming city of goodness and righteous within one year. If the group can accomplish that, he will relinquish his medallion of Heironeous.
The group learned that the next medallions to gain were Corellon and Ehlonna. The two priests, both elves, were married and the temples were actually quite nearby. Xander, being a follower of Ehlonna and a protector of the elves, snuck out to try and gain the medallions peacefully on his own, but failed in negotiations. Instead, he planned to stay with the elves as they hurried to move their village – now forewarned that the Council of Wings was coming.
The rest of the Council found the village. Dreamwarp went forth alone to speak with her brother, but negotiations failed there as well. She summoned everyone else into the village. A small scuffle broke out but nobody was seriously hurt.
In exchange for the medallions, the group agreed to summon a guardian spirit for the elves to protect them forever. The elves agreed and the medallions were gained.
Xander left the party (banished for betraying the council).
The group fought valiantly at Hextor’s temple. Arcan managed to destroy over 100 of the knights, a priest, an elite knight, and the commander when he cast a maximized Meteor Swarm on the central fortress during a religious mass. Though his initial spell took out most of the people, the structural damage caused the entire thing to collapse, which is what finished off the stronger enemies. This still left several priests, however, and one well aimed Implosion spell destroyed Arcan.
Dreamwarp shapeshifted into the form of a small mouse and wriggled through the wreckage to the former high priest’s body. Turning back, she grabbed his medallion and rejoined the others.
Xander was destroyed by an Implosion spell as he sought to protect Talon running from three of the priests hot on his trail.
The medallion of Hextor in hand, the group shifted back to the base. Dreamwarp burned through two Wishes to bring back the bodies of the slain and they were resurrected.
The Hextor Temple group made it to Deepmist Isle, where the fortress of Hextor, and his temple, stood.
After some scouting from Tevran and Xander, it was decided that a sneakier method must be used to overtake the temple. Talon and Xander headed off towards an unguarded sewer, hoping to infiltrate the base from below.
Meanwhile, Dreamwarp had transformed the others and herself into supposed mounts of Heironeous knights. The Hextorian knights took in the wayward horses, claiming them as trophies of sorts.
Xander was detected in his attempt to sneak into the base and now the place is an uproar, moreso since the rest of the group changed back. It has turned into out and out melee, with the group, a handful of elite knights and priests, and almost a hundred strong of soldiers duking it out.
The Green Isle group made peaceful contact with Kutiel and his entourage on the Astral Plane, convincing him to go back to Green Isle and get the inhabitants to stop their ideals of cursades and lead more peaceful lives.
The group split into two, trying to tackle two tasks at once. One group, headed by Andromeda and consisting of Zack, Haku, Blanka, and BB, are heading to Green Isle. Nalani tipped the party off that there was a group of angels there, spreading some sort of new religion. Upon their departure, the humans turned into fanatics and are persecuting nonbelievers. They seek to put an end to this one way or another. The other group, holding everyone else, is en route to Hextor’s temple.
The Green Isle group made it to Port Ann where they found the rumors as confirmed true. The perpetrator seems to be a rogue Monadic Deva angel by the name of Kutiel. A once self-proclaimed Guardian of the Plane of Water, Kutiel seems to have taken up spreading religion.
